University Prep Program – Helping young adults prepare for the next stage of their lives
When our children are ready to head off to University we wonder if they are ready to take on the challenges of independent life.
Sometimes the transition can be a difficult one.
That is why we are planning a three-part course this summer with our counsellor and life coach.
In his work with young adults, he is noticing common issues that arise when transitioning to an independent life and we hope to address them through this course and arm them with the tools they need to be successful.
This three-part course will have;
1. A mental health component – including time and stress management
2. A financial health component
3. A cooking/health component
Stay tuned for more information!
Mental Health and the classroom
We will be holding another teacher training event. In this event you will hear from mental health professionals who can give you tools to use in your classroom to deal with:
- Explosive behaviour – in particular with younger students
- Depression and anxiety in students
- Addictions and mental health
- Self harming and other issues young adults face
- Trauma in the classroom
We hear a lot about Trauma these days, but do we really understand what it means and how we can overcome trauma in our lives?
Join Psychotherapist, Sarah Potvin, as she leads an informative workshop on trauma and how we can process and heal from it.
